Our approach to promote positive youth personal and professional development, defeat social challenges like bullying, substance abuse, lack of enrichment, lack of leadership opportunities, and provide an opportunity for military veterans to still serve their communities is reflected in the following three pillars of our Adopt-A-School Program:
We provide positive role models, or natural mentors, to help youth focus on their future and to become more resilient while living in challenging environments. Positive role models have made significant impacts on youth living in low-income and other challenging environments (Dubois et al. 2002; Werner and Smith 1982).
We believe corporate-school partnerships promote positive youth development, youth participation, organizing, strengthens community connections, and increase civic engagement. Our volunteers work closely with corporate and school leaders to increase corporate-school partnerships.
We know that donations for the classroom can provide for classroom needs. From books, classroom supplies, to food during the COVID-19 pandemic, your donation will enhance the education experience for students in underserved communities.
